General Questions

Who can benefit from CPR, First Aid, and AED training?

Everyone can benefit from life-saving training! Our classes are designed for parents, caregivers, teachers, healthcare professionals, workplace responders, fitness staff, and anyone wanting to be prepared for emergencies at home, work, or in the community.

What is the difference between a certification course and a knowledge-based course?

The certification course provides comprehensive training in CPR, First Aid, and AED, followed by a test to earn an American Red Cross certification valid for two years. It’s ideal for professionals like teachers, daycare providers, and workplace responders who need formal certification.

The knowledge-based course, on the other hand, focuses on teaching practical life-saving skills in a relaxed, test-free environment. It’s perfect for parents, grandparents, and caregivers who want to learn CPR, choking relief, and AED use without the need for formal certification. Both options equip you with the confidence to respond effectively in emergencies, tailored to your goals and needs.

Do I need prior experience to take a class?

No prior experience is needed! Our courses are designed for all levels, from complete beginners to those with previous training who need a refresher or certification renewal.

Can you bring the training to our location?

Absolutely! We specialize in bringing CPR, First Aid, and AED training directly to you. Whether it’s at your home, workplace, church, or community center, we tailor the class to fit your schedule and needs.

How long do the classes typically last?

Class durations vary depending on the type of training and group size. Certification classes generally take about 2-3 hours, covering CPR, First Aid, and AED with hands-on practice and testing. Non-certification (knowledge-based) classes are faster-paced, typically lasting 1-2 hours, focusing on practical skills without testing. We tailor the timing to fit your group’s needs and schedule.

Certification Questions

Is my certification valid nationwide?

Yes! Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a nationally recognized certification from the American Red Cross. This is valid for two years and is widely accepted by employers and organizations.

How often do I need to renew my certification?

CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are valid for two years. We recommend taking a refresher course before your certification expires to ensure your skills stay sharp.

Will I receive a physical certification card?

Yes! After completing your course, you’ll receive a certification card, either physically or digitally, depending on your preference.

Can I take a refresher course if my certification has expired?

Absolutely. Even if your certification has expired, you can take a refresher course to renew your skills and certification.

Non-Certification / Knowledge-Based Questions

What is a non-certification class?

A non-certification class is a faster-paced, hands-on training session designed to teach practical life-saving skills without the need for formal testing or certification. This class focuses on CPR techniques, choking relief, and AED familiarity for infants, children, and adults. It’s perfect for parents, grandparents, and caregivers who want the knowledge and confidence to respond to emergencies in a stress-free environment. While no certification is issued, the skills you learn could make all the difference in an emergency.

Who should take the knowledge-based class?

The knowledge-based class is ideal for anyone who wants to learn essential life-saving skills without the need for formal certification. It’s perfect for parents, grandparents, babysitters, and caregivers looking to feel confident in emergencies involving infants, children, or adults. This class is also great for community groups, church organizations, and clubs like Fit4Mom or hiking groups who want practical, test-free training to prepare for real-life situations.

Are the knowledge-based classes shorter than the certification courses?

Yes, knowledge-based classes are often shorter because they don’t include formal testing. However, you’ll still receive hands-on training and practical skills to respond effectively to emergencies.
